In Vietnam, women are not used to wearing dresses to show off the beauty of their body. Because they have to work very hard. So long dresses would not be appropriate.

But in urban areas, women here alway show more modern. They are wearing Vietnam long dresses, also known as modern clothing. The Vietnamese calls "ao dai Viet Nam".
The origin of these dresses (actually it was the Vietnam skirts but still call it a long shirt) is from Hue and Saigon - Vietnam.
Currently, Vietnamese women are using modern jeans, T-shirts, shirts and short skirts, mini juyp ... However, in special festivals, they are used long dress as a way to honor the traditional beauty.
In Hanoi, Hue, Saigon and many other provinces, schools are now required all students are female (girls) have to wear this long dresses gown to school.
